Mr RK Behera, Chairman, RSB Group (headquartered at Pune) and also Alumni of National Institute of Technology, graced the 12th Convocation 2022 as Guest of Honor attended by industry dignitaries and academicians where he delivered inspirational address to passing out students on the importance of embarking on start-up and charter the innovative entrepreneurial journey, keeping focus on employment opportunities for common man and serve the society at large, besides continual research & development twined with latest technology to sustain, to carve a niche in global arena and contribute to quest for industrial growth of the country. Behera was felicitated along with PC Panigrahy, from first batch of 1960-64 as distinguished alumni on the august occasion.

As an alumni of NIT, he said that his RSB Group will contribute 50 percent of total cost of Incubation & Innovation Centre to boost budding start-ups. He added that IIC should collaborate with NML, XLRI & RIT, to make it effective and impactful for society at large.

Speaking further on the occasion, he quoted his own live example of start-up entrepreneurial venture way back in 1975 at Jamshedpur, after graduating from NIT, with a government subsidy of  ‘20,000/- to start a venture by technocrats and journeying through rough terrain of volatile business swings, withstood trials/tribulations with patience and perseverance, built up RSB Group what is today, with 11 plants in India and two overseas.
