Lifting and material handling solutions specialist Terex Corporation announced delivery of its new Explorer 5800 all terrain crane to H N Construction Pvt Ltd of Bokaro Steel City. “The crane is the first of its kind in India and will significantly enhance the service offerings and enhance jobsite performance for H N Construction,” a statement issued by Terex Corporation said.

Terex Director of Cranes India, Sales and Service, Saeesh Nevrekar, had presented the crane’s key to H N Construction Pvt Ltd Managing Director, Rajnish Gautam. “It is a pleasure to work with H N Construction’s professional team,” says Nevrekar. “They are a quality construction and infrastructure enterprise committed to on-time completion and overall customer satisfaction. The company’s new Terex Explorer 5800 crane is a 5-axle, all-wheel steer carrier that is just 13.2-metre long and 3-metre wide and is configured with a 70-metre boom and 21-metre fixed jib. The crane is designed so that the 70.2 tonne counterweight can be automatically rigged helping to reduce setup time.

The Terex Explorer 5800 crane also employs a single engine concept that uses the latest engine management system to enhance performance for both road travel and lifting. Fuel efficiency is maximised using stop/start technology for the upper cabin and engine remapping depending on what type of operation is being performed, lifting or traveling. And, the Terex IC-1 touch screen control system, along with radio remote control, makes rigging and on-site operation safe and efficient. The control system provides the operator with accurate load moment measurements and wind speeds and simplifies the way the crane operates when handling the most demanding lifts.

“We selected the Terex Explorer 5800 because of its versatility and compact size, as well as the reputation Terex has for quality and service after the sale,” explains Rajnish Gautam. “It is our first Terex Crane, but we plan to add more in the future. This unit will be put to work right away on the campus of Bokaro Steel Plant, one of oldest and largest steel plants in India.”
