  Aquaproof Group is a manufacturer of construction chemicals. Aquaproof has large variety of products in building & construction chemical such as Tile Care, Build Repair, Paints, Putty, etc. We chat up with Sonia Ruparelia, Director, Aquaproof Group as she shares her take on various topics about the company and the procurement issues.

Range of products for the industry
Sharing about the contribution made by Aquaproof in the construction chemicals industry, Ruparelia said, “     We have over 100 products under 12 categories for chemicals. Waterproofing, Concrete Protection, Plaster & Putty, Tile Care, Build Repair, Sealent, Water Repellant, Industrial Floors, Industrial Grouts, Admixtures, Paints & Epoxy. For Coating we have products like Raingard, Aqua SOL, Aqua Last.”

Why Aquaproof?
When asked what made the clients choose Aquaproof over other construction chemical manufacturers, Ruparelia attributes it to 3 reasons. “Firstly, we have better quality which is combined with the economical prices and the regular supply of products.” She also says the credibility and the goodwill earned since the last 15 years. Lastly, the 7 factories that are located pan India, Rupareila attributes the location advantage that the company gets by reaching in the interiors of India.

Innovations in recent times
Ruparelia also shared about the innovations that she has noticed in the recent times. “Over the time there is huge changes in this segment globally. Earlier, Admixtures was manufactured Ligno based. Later on it was modified and manufactured by SNF and now Ultra Super Plasticizers are used to manufacture admixture in 21st century”, she expresses.

Procurement practices and Payment concerns
When asked about the procurement practices that are followed at Aquaproof, Ruparelia was quick to add , “Before using any material for manufacturing our products, it is tested in laboratory to make sure of the quality parameters are met. Also the purchase costing, which is closely monitored by both Purchase as well as Finance department.”

“The credit periods are different for different customers. For, Trade Partners who are also distributors of our company the credit period is 30 days. Direct consumers enjoy credit period of 45 days”, she says while speaking about the credit concerns.

On a concluding note, Ruparelia said that the company manufactures and sells the product to the trade partners. “Fewer channel partners take our product & use it in projects. Our products are used by masses because we are retail oriented manufacturing company”, she sums up.
