Collection of the final 5 per cent will always remain a challenge if you do not satisfy your customers fully.
Pressmach Engineering Pvt Ltd has been well accepted by most of the marquee multinational as well as Indian companies as their trusted partner for innovating space need solutions. Pressmach was established in the year 1985 to manufacture electrical insulation components, composite plastics and acoustic enclosures for diesel generators. In 1993, the company diversified into construction of pre-fabricated buildings, bank houses and pre-engineered buildings. Today, Pressmach provides innovative turnkey solutions to our clients in various segments such as construction industry, telecom sector, IT majors, hospitals, hotels, educational institutions and other companies in the industrial sector.

C A Sunny, Chairman, Pressmach Engineering shares his experience and insights into prefab world and more specifically in the background of Indian relevance. “We have executed more than 1,500 projects by deploying various wall and roofing solutions with SMC sheet moulded component with PUF insulation or sandwich panels with PUF and EPS insulation and innovative plastocrete solutions which is our own in-house innovation,” he said. The company also caters to lower segment where PVC panels or PPGL roof and walls with Rockwool under deck or wall insulations are deployed respectively.

Cost effective solutions
Sunny further observed that there has been quite a few innovations like shortcrete and EPS insulated walls, precast PUF and cement walls, rapid walls and rexwalls from Germany, Australia and USA but owing to the negative cost benefit reasons such high end solutions are yet to find its entry into Indian market. He said, “Our solutions are used by all type of industries and business verticals as these are eco-friendly, faster to erect, insignificant maintenance cost, and easy-to-dismantle and reuse with a highly negligible building waste. Therefore our products are cost effective solutions for all the customers.”

Pressmach’s procurement practices
Commenting on how far the company’s procurement practices add value to its final products, Sunny said, “Efficient procurement with high quality and logistics play a very vital role alongside timely execution of the project. Poor understanding in this area leads to unexpected loss no matter which technology or solutions that you deploy.”

Payment and credit concerns
Explaining the payment and credit concerns in the market, he further points out, “Collection of the final 5 per cent will always remain a challenge if you do not satisfy your customers fully. We have not abandoned any single standalone or multiple projects be it of any financial value till date. As a value addition to our clients, we also provide unique operating lease options for all our semi-permanent structures as a combined financial solution.”

Achievements amidst challenges
The company considers Tata Steel’s Kalinganagar (Odisha) plant worth ` 18-crore as the most challenging project. “Despite several challenges we completed this project a net profit of ` 2.76 crore in this adverse business environment without compromising on quality and finish. We also got NTPC-Jharkhand order for pre-fabricated guest house worth of ` 32 crore during current financial year based on successful completion of Tata Kalinganagar project,” Sunny concludes.
