Concrete equipment will be key in the infrastructural progress

How did you successfully manage your business in the Covid times?

Putzmeister believes in being close to our customer’s business, all our teams are trained to keep customer at the heart of all our processes. Like every other business, we faced mobility and logistics challenges during nation-wide and regional lockdowns over the past 1.5 years. From offering our customers remote services to virtual meetings and training, our teams adapted quickly to the new normal. We put new systems and processes in place to ensure that our customers got the support they needed.

How do you view the recovery in Concrete Equipment market so far? 

The concrete equipment market has picked up during the last quarter. With current orders in hand, there is every indication that this growth trend will continue. Given the Government’s commitment and focus on meeting infrastructure goals and assuming we don’t have another wave of Covid, we expect the market size to surpass 2019 levels over the next couple of quarters. 

What are your strategies for business revival post pandemic? 

Customer focus, offering the best-in-class equipment and aftersales support has always been central to our strategy. In challenging times, this becomes even more important. A regular feedback mechanism helps us stay connected to our customers and anticipate their requirements. 

Our continuous R&D approach, which did not slow down in the pandemic, helps us. More recently we also started offering Sany concrete pumps. This helps us reach a wider market with differentiated products.

How do you assess the growth next year and beyond in Concrete Equipment market? 

The Government of India has ambitious infrastructure goals. And concrete equipment has a big role to play in helping meet these targets. Given this, there is potential for further growth in the concrete equipment segment. India is an important market for the Putzmeister Group and this will continue to be the case in the future. Our dedicated team of engineers and technicians are constantly working on ways to help our customers get the most of their equipment and deliver projects reliably, efficiently, and safely.
