hexagon Mining, part of the Sweden-based Hexagon Group, has specific focus on IT-based end-to-end solutions to solve surface and underground challenges with proven technologies for Surveying, planning, operations, and safety. In India, Hexagon Mining is represented by Gurgaon-based company Elcome Technologies Pvt Ltd (ETPL). While presenting the company’s product line at the 13th International Mining and Machinery Exhibition (IMME) held recently in Kolkata, Rajendra Singh Goyal, Head Mining Business, ETPL said, “We don’t sell products, rather we sell complete solutions. In mining, we offer one-stop solutions right from surveying, planning, operations to optimisation and safety.”

He continues by saying, “Indian mining industry is coming to a level where huge challenges are expected in terms of efficiency and higher operational costs. Organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), IMME is the largest trade fair dedicated to the mining industry in India. More than 400 companies from 10 countries took part in this four-day event between 16th and 19th December. At IMME 2016, ETPL promoted Hexagon Mining’s brand integration at their stand by presenting innovative products such as Leica Geosystems’ Nova MS60, the Leica Scan Station P40, mine scanning system and Fleet Management Solutions also from Leica Geosystems, as well as Mine Planning software from MINESIGHT and SAFEmine safety solutions.

SAFEmine is an advanced Collision Avoidance System (CAS) which helps mines improve safety and efficiency, by protecting both human and mechanical assets. “SAFEmine CAS is a proven technology that can significantly reduce mining-related accidents and contributes to huge cost savings by reducing the risk of business disruption and maintenance costs,” claims Goyal.

ETPL also demonstrated the unique features of GeoMedia from Hexagon Geospatial – a flexible and dynamic GIS package for creating, updating, managing and analysing valuable geospatial information.
Talking about the USP of their product, Goyal said, “We bring solutions integrate, automate, and optimise critical workflows together in a life-of-mine solution that connects people and processes seamlessly.”

ETPL has a state-of-the-art hardware and software services and support centre located in Gurgaon.

“Global mining giants like BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Vale and Codelco are user of our solutions. In India, mining majors like Coal India, Jindal, Vedanta and Adani are our clients,” informed Goyal.

Other avenues
Apart from mining, Hexagon range of solutions finds application across sectors including infrastructure, construction and automotive. In India, ETPL is optimistic about the business opportunities from the upcoming road development and smart cities projects.
