Revolutionizing fuel dynamics cummins, and Repos energy Introduce DATUM, a game-changing solution for enhanced efficiency, sustainability, and seamless fuel management in power technology.

Cummins India Limited one of the leading power solutions technology providers in the country, announced the launch of DATUM (Data Automated Teller Ultimate Machine), an intelligent Fuel Management System, in collaboration with Repos Energy at CII EXCON 2023, at Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre (BIEC). As a part of the collaboration, Cummins will market and distribute the DATUM range of products through its vast distribution network in India.

Currently, customers face multiple challenges while managing their fuel operations including cumbersome procurement processes, fuel pilferage and adulteration, high dead-mileage operations, and unbalanced diesel inventory. Managing fuel requirements for multiple sites through conventional and manual processes locks working capital, contributing to a higher Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and lower profitability. DATUM addresses these customer challenges by offering a solution that enhances the visibility into the downstream diesel value chain, driving cost and operational efficiency for its users.

DATUM leverages sensors and digital technologies to provide real-time updates on fuel inventory and consumption across multiple installations. The safe and certified smart fuel storage solution enables remote monitoring of fuel levels, sends alerts when fuel level is low, and facilitates 24×7 doorstep delivery of diesel thereby enhancing the efficiency of operations while reducing its carbon footprint. The entire process from fuel ordering to payment and invoicing is digital. The customer benefits from reduced fuel procurement costs, improved management of diesel inventory, higher asset utilization, and assurance of quality and quantity of fuel consumed. This has shown a direct reduction of up to 10 percent in fuel costs, coupled with a significant improvement in operational uptime.

Vivek Malapati, VP of Distribution Business at Cummins India Limited, emphasized their commitment to environmental sustainability through innovative, low to zero-emission solutions. The launch of DATUM in partnership with Repos addresses fuel operation challenges, offering customers convenience, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while contributing to environmental sustainability and emission reduction.

Aditi Bhosale Walunj, Co-Founder of Repos Energy, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Cummins, highlighting the transformative impact of DATUM. This tech-enabled solution facilitates convenient fuel delivery, enhances accessibility, organizes the industry, and promotes fuel efficiency for a carbon-neutral future.

The DATUM range of products consists of different variants based on applications. Datum X is suitable for stationary genset application whereas DATUM Y and DATUM Z come with a dispenser and are suitable for fleet owners of diesel equipment and on-HW vehicles.
