With nearly three decades of experience in the polyurethane sector, Swagath Urethane has carved a niche for itself in providing high-quality products for the mining and construction industries. At bauma India, Swagath Urethane introduced two groundbreaking products: one focused on water-based processing and another on the increasingly popular dry process.
How do your new water-based and dry process technologies address industry challenges like water scarcity and pollution?
Swagath Urethane has a history of over 29 years in the polyurethane line. During this time, we have established ourselves as experts in providing solutions such as screen-sand hydro-cyclones and utilising mineral beneficiation processes. At bauma india, we introduced two new products, one focused on water-based processing, which we have been offering for the past five years, and the other being a dry process, which we launched just last year. The dry process is especially exciting for us because very few companies in India offer this technology. It has received positive feedback, both locally and internationally, and we are already in negotiations with potential customers from abroad. This product is expected to be a significant addition to our business, especially in markets facing water scarcity and pollution concerns.
Can you elaborate on the differences between the two products in terms of technology and cost-effectiveness?
The water-based machine is our long-standing product that has proven effective for various industries. However, the dry process machine is a more recent development that addresses specific challenges, such as water shortages and environmental pollution. While the dry process machine is more expensive, it offers significant advantages in areas where water is scarce or difficult to access. For example, the dry process machine is fully compact and enclosed and features a two-stage mechanism, which ensures higher productivity in a smaller footprint and minimises maintenance costs. It’s a more sustainable option because it eliminates the need for water, making it ideal for use in regions where water pollution and depletion are major concerns. While the dry process is a higher investment, it offers long-term savings and benefits, especially regarding reduced water consumption and environmental impact.
Can you discuss the sustainability features of the dry process machine?
Sustainability is indeed a key focus for us. Over the past few years, India has significantly declined river water availability due to over-extraction and pollution. Several states have already imposed bans on riverwater extraction, and the environmental damage caused by mining and riverbed extraction is becoming a major concern. Our dry process machine addresses these pressing issues by reducing reliance on water. Not only does this help conserve precious water resources, but it also ensures that our operations are more environmentally friendly. The machine’s compact and enclosed design ensures that no dust or pollutants are released into the environment, an important factor in regions where air quality is a concern. We believe this product will be particularly effective in India, where water scarcity and environmental pollution are critical issues, and we expect it to impact the industry and the environment positively.
Do you have any upcoming plans or product developments for 2025?
We have exciting plans for the coming year. We are currently working on a new product in the Prasad Crossing section. This product is in the final stages of design and development and undergoing testing. It should be ready for launch by February or March 2025. Once it is finalised, we plan to introduce it to the market. This new product will further strengthen our position in the industry and expand our product portfolio, particularly in specialised machinery. We are excited about its potential and the opportunities it will bring.
