  At Excon, Volvo Trucks has introduced its telematics solution namely Dynafleet on the aftermarket side. “Dynafleet allows the customer to keep a good track of his fleet remotely on key parameters to truly optimise preventive maintenance and avoid unplanned stops, plan the fleet utilisation and monitor driving behaviour and fuel consumption. Telematics help the customer manage his business better and thus impacting his bottom line directly,” says Pierre Jean Verge Salamon, President of Volvo Group Trucks India. Customers can access the information anywhere, as long as they are connected to the internet, on their laptops/ PC, tablet or smartphone, he assures.

Bullish on prospects for Indian mining sector
Volvo Trucks is bullish about the prospects in the Indian mining sector as the country produces 88 minerals – 4 fuel-related minerals, 10 metallic minerals, 50 non-metallic minerals and 24 minor minerals. To unleash the potential, the truck maker has launched two new large capacity 5-axle dump trucks for various mining applications. The new products FMX 520 10×4 and FMX 480 10×4 are ready to take on future demand of coal mining, the company said. Commenting on the launch, Pierre Jean says, “The new high capacity dump trucks are being introduced to enhance the productivity in line with the increasing demands of coal production. The FMX 520 10×4 dump truck offers a 33 per cent higher capacity and the FMX 480 10X4 offers a 28 per cent higher capacity compared to the current 8X4 solutions available in the market.”

The company has also launched a highly customised coal haulage solution with 33 cu.m. body.
