E icher Trucks and Buses strengthened its presence in the mining and construction sector through an expansion of its product portfolio and showcasing a series of tippers in the Pro 6000 and 8000 category at the Excon 2015.
The company launched Pro 8031XM 8×4 tipper with 330 HP with rock body and box body options for mining and Pro 6025T6x4 box body with 220 HP and RMC with 210 HP for construction sectors. With these, Eicher is now fully equipped to address two critical segments of mining and construction, it said in a statement.
Equipped with fuel efficient driveline, robust chassis, advanced telematics and world class cabin; the Eicher Pro 8031XMis built in collaboration with Volvo Group with a vision to provide premium experience. The product is compliant to all 20 safety features as recommended by Directorate General of mines safety, through standard and optional fitments. Eicher Pro 8031XM is powered by a state-of-the-art VEDX8 7.7 litre engine based on Volvo Group’s global platform that delivers 330HP, and 1,200 Nm torque over a wide range of 1,200 to 1,650 rpm.
The new Eicher Pro 6025T is designed for a variety of construction applications like road construction, infrastructure projects, port transportation etc.
Commenting on the occasion Vinod Aggarwal, CEO of VE Commercial Vehicles said, “With launch of the latest technology products in our Pro 8000 and 6000 series, we are now in a relatively advantageous position to take benefit of this expected revival in mining and construction segment.”
The Pro 6000 and Pro8000 range have been developed with collaboration between VECV and Volvo Group. Present at the occasion, Pierre Jean Verge Salamon, President of Volvo Group Trucks India, said, “The VE Commercial vehicles joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors has been extremely successful for the last 7 years due to strong collaboration and synergies between the two companies. Volvo Group has made huge investments in India and infused global technology at local cost levels to modernise the Eicher range and brought in best practices in quality and production systems. For example, the state-of-the-art engine plant at Pithampur supplies engines not only for Eicher in domestic market but also exports Euro 6 emission standard engines to Europe.’’
Further commenting on the aftermarket presence necessary to ensure high uptime required in mining and construction sites, Aggarwal added, “We offer unique onsite support services for mining customers and the same can be extended to construction customers on need basis. Apart from these on-site services, there are a lot of innovative after sales schemes like “Freedom” and “Eicher Promise” which ensure maximum uptime and higher level of productivity to our customers.’’
