Epiroc introduces the Boomer E10 and E20 mining drill rigs

Epiroc’s new Boomer E10 and E20 offer exceptional flexibility and coverage because of their tiny footprint and strong, multi-purpose BUT 45-booms. The drill rigs, which are part of Epiroc’s Smart series, have automated features that boost operator safety and productivity and an optional battery-electric driveline for decreased environmental impact and better underground conditions.

Suitable for both mining and construction
Aside from being small enough for mine development, both drill rigs have BUT 45-booms with telescopic feed beams. These powerful booms are suitable for a wide range of applications and can quickly meet the demands of heavy-duty construction activity.

Safe productivity with outstanding operator assistance features
The Boomer E10 and E20 boost operator productivity and safety with teleremote drilling, auto level, and setup aid. The optional teleremote drilling feature allows the operator to work safely from the face and provides drilling during shift changes.

“With teleremote drilling, the operator can drill an entire face from a control room.” Naturally, this is a safer workplace. Furthermore, drilling during shift changes and lunch breaks can boost production by up to 25 percent, according to Camilla Spngberg, Global Product Manager of Epiroc’s Underground division.

Furthermore, both drill rigs offer setup help to operators. The operator can easily position the rig in the mine or tunnel since the carrier is equipped with a sophisticated scanner that measures the distance to the walls and face.
