Godrej & Boyce expands its “Good & Green” mission and seeks to lessen its carbon footprint by using “green” forklifts.

The flagship company of the Godrej Group, Godrej & Boyce, has stated that Godrej Material Handling has expanded its line-up of environmentally friendly goods with a target of 28 percent market share for electric forklifts in India by FY24. India’s manufacturing sector is undergoing ongoing change and is not only benefiting from considerable technological advancement but also from corporate India’s purposeful adoption of green manufacturing practises.

Godrej & Boyce is renowned for its dedication to environmental protection and sustainability. The company is making great strides towards lowering its carbon footprint and building a more sustainable future for India’s manufacturing industry by concentrating on green forklifts.

Godrej Material Handling gets about 20 percent of its sales from green items as part of Godrej & Boyce’s Good & Green strategy, which makes sure that every company gets a portion of its revenue from green products and services. This portfolio now includes the electric forklift, which is dedicated to giving customers a technologically advanced and effective experience. Electric forklifts offer lower operating expenses than diesel forklift trucks by as much as 20 percent and are more adaptable and agile. UNO, Bravo, and NEO are the three electric forklifts that Godrej Material Handling provides.

The Godrej PRO series reach truck and the Bravo electric series offer simple-to-use equipment that is safer for the environment and boosts production in difficult tasks and constrained places.

Neville Mevawala, Head of Sales & Marketing, Godrej Material Handling, Godrej & Boyce, says, “At Godrej Material Handling, we are continuously working towards increasing the share of our Good and Green products. We believe that it is not just the right choice to make but also one that has huge economic value. With this, we aim to bring products and solutions to the market that make the supply chain and logistics segment in India more efficient and sustainable. Switching from an ICE forklift to an emission-free forklift can have a major impact on business operations.”

Electric forklift trucks have significantly replaced diesel forklift trucks on the shop floor and in warehouses as a result of the government’s push for Indian enterprises to adopt sustainable production practices. Up from 57 percent four years ago, electric trucks now hold 65 percent of the market.

The 1.5- to 5-tonne electric forklifts made by Godrej Material Handling are strong machines with improved ergonomics, higher protection, better vision, and longer operating times between charges. Godrej & Boyce has always been at the forefront of making international technology accessible to Indian clients with such cutting-edge solutions.
