He emphasised the global convergence towards sustainable practices, with green energy and hybrid machines taking centre stage. True to its commitment, Hailstone is steering towards a mobility concept that prioritises rapid, efficient machines while minimising environmental impact.

“We focus more on mobility concepts, where rapid machines facilitate quick installations. We’re keen on hybrid modes to reduce diesel consumption and increase reliance on electricity,” Sooraj explained.

Beyond mobility, Hailstone is venturing into biomining and construction recycling, aiming to turn waste materials into valuable resources. The concept of “waste to wealth” is at the forefront of their endeavours.

Product launches and innovations

In the bustling environment of Excon, Hailstone made waves with six impactful product launches. Sooraj detailed the unveiling of improved compressors, the tracked jaw, and two Smart series machines tailored to meet the needs of National Highway contractors and mining operations.

“The Smart series machines are a game-changer for our industry, providing significant support for essential operations,” Sooraj remarked.

A pivotal part of our conversation centred around Hailstone’s strategic focus on globalisation, sustainability, technology, and inclusiveness. Sooraj shed light on each area, illustrating how Hailstone actively contributes to the industry’s evolution.

On globalisation, Sooraj shared, “Indian companies are expanding globally, and Hailstone is no exception. We’ve established international offices in Dubai and operations in South America and Africa, making our mark on the global stage.”

Inclusiveness, for Hailstone, goes beyond diversity in the workforce. The company boasts a diverse product line supporting various markets, from mining to recycling and washing.

For Hailstone, sustainability is more than simply a catchphrase—it inspires their creations. Sooraj underscored the worldwide trend of material reuse, enhanced efficiency, and less dependence on fossil fuels. The company has integrated green energy choices for its machinery and is actively investigating alternative fuels.

“Reducing our carbon footprint is a priority, and we’re utilising the latest advancements in motors, such as IE 3 motors, to achieve higher efficiency and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels,” Sooraj elaborated.

The regulatory landscape and industry outlook

Navigating the regulatory landscape is integral to any industry, and Sooraj shared how Hailstone is strategically positioned within it. He highlighted how regulatory measures, such as those from the Pollution Control Board, support the business. Rules promoting the use of recycled materials in construction align with Hailstone’s commitment to a greener environment.

As for the industry outlook, Sooraj painted a positive picture, stating, “Our industry, particularly the crushing sector, is witnessing significant growth. The market in India and abroad presents ample expansion opportunities.”
