JSW Infrastructure has signed an agreement with the Karnataka government to develop a greenfield port project at Keni in the southern state. The agreement has been inked between its subsidiary company Masad Infra Services and Karnataka Maritime Board (KMB). The upcoming Keni port, projected to cost ₹ 4,119 crore, is strategically located between two operational major ports viz. Mormugao Port in the north and New Mangalore Port in the south. The proposed port is estimated to have an initial capacity of 30 million tonne per annum (MTPA).

On 16 November, 2023, JSW received a letter of award (LoA) to build an all-weather, deep-water, greenfield port at Keni Port in Karnataka on a public-private partnership (PPP) basis. Keni Port is anticipated as a multi-cargo, direct berthing, deep-water commercial port for handling all types of cargoes on the west coast in the North Karnataka region to serve the industries in the area covering Bellary, Hosapete, Hubballi, Kalaburagi, and South Maharashtra. JSW Infrastructure, a port-related infrastructure company, has an installed cargo handling capacity of 153.43 MTPA.
