KSB Group, a leading manufacturer of pumps and valves, is scheduled to launch a new series of submersible borehole pumps into the market. Dubbed UPA S 250, these pumps are designed to cater to a wide range of applications such as general water supply, agriculture, mine dewatering, groundwater management, and pressure-boosting tasks.

Optimised hydraulic design
One of the key features of the UPA S 250 is its optimised hydraulic design that enables the pump to achieve high levels of efficiency. The wear-resistant design, complete with metal casing wear rings and silicon carbide bearings, helps keep energy consumption to a minimum, even when dealing with fluids with high sand content.

Flow rates and maximum head
The UPA S 250 pump series will initially come in three different hydraulic system sizes that cover flow rates between 60 and 400 cubic metres per hour. The maximum head is 360 meters. All cast components are made of high-grade stainless steel 1.4408 or, optionally, 1.4517.

High-efficiency electric motors
The UPA S 250 pumps can be combined with the high-efficiency electric motors of the UMA-S series upon request. These synchronous motors with permanent magnets have a higher output per size compared to conventional asynchronous motors.

Precisely trimmed impeller diameters
For fixed-speed operating modes without a frequency inverter, KSB trims the impeller diameters of the UPA S 250 precisely to the required duty point. This ensures that the characteristic curves are individually adjusted to the demand, preventing excessive power consumption.

The new UPA S 250 pump series from KSB Group is set to provide high efficiency and low energy consumption, making it a valuable addition to the company’s range of well pumps. Its optimised hydraulic design, high-grade stainless steel materials, and compatibility with high-efficiency electric motors make it a versatile and reliable option for various applications.
