SIAM Cement BigBloc Construction commence production of AAC Blocks and ALC Panels at its Greenfield unit in Kheda District near Ahmedabad.
SIAM Cement BigBloc Construction Technologies Pvt Ltd (Subsidiary of BigBloc Construction Ltd), a joint venture between Gujarat based BigBloc Construction Ltd and Thailand’s SCG International India Pvt Ltd has commenced production at company’s 2.5 lakh cubic meter per annum Greenfield project in Kheda district near Ahmedabad (Gujarat). The joint venture company will manufacture AAC Blocks and ALC panels at the facility and will market its products under the brand name ‘ZMARTBUILD WALL by Nxtbloc’.
Total investment in the Kheda project is estimated at ₹ 65 crore. The unit has potential to generate 50,000-60,000 units of carbon credits per annum. At full capacity the plant is expected to generate revenues of around ₹ 100 crore per annum. The joint venture also aim to share techno-commercial knowledge, promote mutual growth and cooperation in the construction industry and bring new age building materials to Indian markets. The Kheda Kapadvanj project can be expanded to 5 lakhs CBM per annum in the second phase with approval from both joint venture parties.
In 2021, BigBloc Construction entered into a strategic Joint Venture with Siam Cement Group (SCG) of Thailand for setting up state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for ALC Panels and AAC Blocks in Kheda District, near Ahmedabad (Gujarat). BigBloc Construction holds 52 ₹ in the joint venture company while 48 ₹ with SCG. This is SCG Group’s first investment in India. Established in 1913, SCG is one of the largest cement and building material companies in Thailand and Southeast Asia.

Construction activities at the plant began in September 2023, and within just seven months, production commenced, setting a remarkable record in the AAC industry in India. The total constructed area for this plant exceeds 1.5 lakh square feet. Going further SCG and Bigbloc shall work jointly on all the Building Material Solutions to strengthen supply chain in India, leverage each other capability and provide exceptional solutions to the Construction Industry. Subject to approval from both joint venture parties, the project has the potential to expand to 5 lakhs CBM per annum in the second phase.”
Incorporated in 2015, BigBloc Construction Ltd is one of the largest and only listed company in the Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) Block Space with an installed capacity of 8.25 lakhs cubic meter per annum. Company’s manufacturing plants are located in Umargaon (Vapi) and Kapadvanj (Ahmedabad) in Gujarat and Wada (Palghar) in Maharashtra. Post completion of all ongoing expansion, the company’s total capacities will increase to 13.75 lakhs cubic meter per annum making the company one of the largest players in the country. The company also expects to generate around 2.75 lakh carbon credit every year post the expansion.
