The inaugural phase of the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR) project, linking Dabaspet to Hoskote via Doddaballapur, is poised for opening to traffic in early March 2024.

This vital infrastructure seamlessly connects three major national highways: NH-48 (Tumakuru Road), NH-44 (Ballari Road), and NH-75 (Bengaluru-Kolar Road).

With only 500-700 meters of pending road works, the Dabaspet to Doddaballapur section nears completion, aiming to cover the 80-km distance by the end of February. In November 2023, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) inaugurated a 34-km segment between Doddaballapur and Hoskote, initiating toll collection at Nallur village in Bengaluru Rural district.

Key infrastructure enhancements include the nearing completion of a railway overbridge (RoB) near Doddaballapur and an underpass near Doddabelavangala. Anticipated benefits include a significant reduction, estimated at 40-50 percent, in truck traffic entering the city via Tumakuru Road.

Additionally, a toll plaza near Hulikunte will manage traffic flow between Dabaspet and Doddaballapur. Furthermore, integration with the Bengaluru-Chennai expressway has been accomplished, alongside the completion of a four-kilometer segment near Hoskote.
