Sunbeam’s PUF for heat insulation, waterproof coatings
 
Sunbeam Infratech, Pune, over the years has developed the highly innovative polyurethane foam spraying application which is the most promising technique of creating heat insulation and waterproof coatings. PUF’s ability to cover complex-shape surfaces with excellent adhesion allows architects to design and implement thermal insulation for various types of buildings that have complicated forms such as barges, arches, columns,etc. Polyurethane foam is ideal for repair of damaged roofing (with any slope angles) of old, insufficiently heat-insulated buildings.
 
PUF is excellent for thermal insulation for pipes and heating mains. Sprayed insulation provides a monolithic, fully waterproofing pipe covering. No additional coating is required, except painting to protect the pipes from direct sunlight.
 
Seamless: Spray polyurethane foam forms a seamless insulated roofing system. It has no joints or seams that often allow outside water and air to pass through the roofing system into the building structure. Because spray polyurethane foam conforms to the substrate, and when installed, it is a seamless system. Sprayed polyurethane foam efficiently solves the leakage problem.
 
Elimination of ponding water: In reroofing applications, ponding of water may be eliminated by adding an increased thickness of polyurethane foam in low areas.
 
Minimizes thermal shock: Because a polyurethane foam roofing system is seamless, it has a high “R” value and hence it greatly reduces thermal shock a building is subjected to because of fluctuating outdoor temperatures.
 
Rigidity: While spray polyurethane foam is very lightweight, it is strong and will not pack down or sag.
 
Flexibility: It has the ability to withstand a structure’s normal expansion and contraction without affecting the ability to keep the structure protected from the outside elements.
 
Ease of application and economical: A spray polyurethane system can be applied in a relatively short period of time with little or no disruption of building operations by an experienced qualified polyurethane foam. PUF spray roof covering saves huge amount of time and money in comparison with traditional methods.
 
Because of these salient cost and time saving features, PUF spraying is becoming an application of choice for not only new constructions but also renovating old structures.
