Problem at Diamond Stone Crushers 

Diamond Stone Crushers is a crushed and coarse sand crusher unit located in Sholapur, Maharashtra. A key provider for construction businesses, the company had been using a vertical shaft impactor (VSI) and jaw crusher machine that is commonly used across the equipment industry. A team from Mobil visited the plant to inspect the bearings and understand the underlying cause of bearing failure patterns. After thorough studies and investigation, Mobil recommended the use of MobilgreaseTM XHP 222 for greasing the lever bearings in the jaw crusher and VSI, and achieve improved bearing service life. Mobil also conducted continuous performance monitoring to examine the results. Simultaneously, the team from Mobil also guided Diamond Stone Crushers with on-site training on best practices for relubrication interval, handling and maintenance.

With the switch to Mobilgrease XHP 222, the company was able to achieve a three-fold improvement in bearing service life and a 72 percent reduction in bearing failure. Simultaneously, productivity increased by three times – leading to a total savings of $34,042 annually. Diamond Stone Crushers also earned 72 hours exposure reduction and 540 kg waste generation reduction with a commensurate drop in negative environmental fallouts.
