Tata Hitachi introduced new products at bauma CONEXPO 2024, including the SHINRAI Prime CEV V and the EX210LC Electric Concept, highlighting their commitment to innovation, sustainability, and infrastructure development in India.
Could you elaborate on the range of products in prime focus?
In 2024, we debuted a range of products, beginning with the SHINRAI Prime CEV V backhoe loader and progressing to the TL340H Prime CEV-5, a three-ton class wheel loader. We also unveiled the ZW 225 CEV-5, a 5-ton class wheel loader, and the EX130 Prime Tunnel version. In addition, we debuted the EX350LCH Prime, a 35-ton excavator, and the EX 210LC Electric Concept, a tethered machine. This year, we’ve released five new machines.
What sustainability initiatives are integrated into your product?
Our wheel products, including the SHINRAI Prime CEV V, TL340H, and ZW 225, are the first to meet the CEV 5 rules, which will go into effect in the coming calendar year. These machines are part of our standard machine line. In addition, we have the EX210 electric. This 100 percent electric, tethered machine contributes to lower pollution standards and reduces operating expenses by three to four times while retaining the same level of performance.
We unveiled a battery-powered compact excavator in December 2023, marking the second electric product from the Tata Hitachi stable. This new type is a tethered cabled electric excavator, unlike the previous one powered by batteries.
Do you offer training or skill development programs for your workforce or customers?
We offer a complete program for training operators for our customers, which includes a certification course run in partnership with IESC. Operators who finish the training earn certification. Our training includes excellent simulation facilities that allow operators to hone their abilities before working on real machinery. We also provide access to real machines, allowing operators to apply their simulation and theory knowledge in a realistic setting.
How do you integrate AI and automation into your equipment?
Automation is gradually becoming more common in various fields, and we have integrated solutions such as ConSite and Insight for telematics and machine monitoring. In addition, we are focussing on using data to improve machine monitoring and optimise service planning.
What safety measures and regulations does your product comply with to ensure operator safety?
Safety is built into our machines and is reflected in the regulations that responsible manufacturers must adhere to. The new rule requires all machinery to be ROPS and FOPS compliant, and we are working to ensure that all wheel equipment fulfils these standards in the future.
Furthermore, all of our mining machines correspond to DGMS standards. We have continuously complied with safety requirements and have always strived to go one step ahead in adopting these measures.
How does your company plan to support the Viksit Bharat through its products and services?
We have been in this industry for nearly six decades, founded in 1961 as a division of Tata Motors. Since then, we’ve continuously delivered equipment to the infrastructure sector, assisting contractors who use our machinery to construct the country’s infrastructure. Infrastructure drives growth, which is consistent with the idea of Viksit Bharat. Since our organisation was founded, we have been working towards this aim, playing an important role in the country’s progress.
What distinguishes the contemporary age is the Government of India’s massive push to create infrastructure in sectors such as roads, trains, and highways. This reinvigorated focus strengthens our contribution to the Viksit Bharat mission, which we are determined to continue.
Following this, we are designing additional machines in India. For example, the SHINRAI backhoe loader, TL340H, EX210 electric, and EX350 were all designed in India. Our efforts extend beyond simply selling machinery; we actively engage in in-house design and development to meet local needs.
Furthermore, Hitachi Construction Machinery is setting up a development centre in India. Combined with our joint venture as Tata Hitachi, this underlines our dedication to indigenising machine development and bringing world-class equipment to India. By doing so, we enable our customers to construct the best infrastructure possible, supporting the vision of Viksit Bharat.
How does your company plan to contribute to broader development goals?
We are a corporation that has provided a solid basis for India’s construction equipment industry. One of our major values is giving dependable solutions. Every piece of equipment we give to our customers is built with dependability in mind, ensuring consistent performance in any application.
In addition to our equipment, we base our spare parts and servicing approach on the reliability premise. Everything we offer demonstrates our dedication to a firm foundation, which has been the hallmark of our lengthy history in the industry. Our clients recognise us for our constancy, and we appreciate their continuous support as we work together to create the nation.
