Terex—a diversified global manufacturer of equipment that adds value to materials in mining and quarrying industries—has reinforced its commitment to building an industry-leading aftermarket service network in India through the expansion of its customer and product support team, a new aftermarket facility, and continued roll out of its informative Operator Training Program.
Expansion of customer and product support team
Terex has expanded its customer and product support team to improve geographic reach and increase capacity to provide technical support across India. The new additions are based out of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, Solapur in Maharashtra, Jodhpur in Rajasthan and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.
“Terex has long-standing and valued relationships in India, and we are steadily increasing our customer and product support in strategic locations across the country,” said Jaideep Shekhar, Managing Director, Terex India. “These trained experts join our existing team of highly skilled customer and product support engineers who are available to meet customer needs and resolve emergency situations as they arise.”
New aftermarket facility
A new, integrated aftermarket facility at Hosur was launched at the end of 2018, and at approximately 2000 square metres, doubles the parts warehouse area for Terex India. Additional similar capacity expansion has also been undertaken at three other parts distribution warehouses in the country, with a total warehouse space now totaling 6,000 square metres. These state-of-the-art warehouses are playing a key role in driving the reliable, efficient supply of parts to Terex India customers, maximising their machine uptimes and return on investment. The Hosur facility further includes a parts warehouse with an upgraded logistics system that deals with all picking, packing, delivery functions and storage. The building also encompasses a dedicated refurbishment shop, a new rock test lab to aid in the prediction of performance and a proposed engine repair facility.
Operator training
Terex India provided operator training for almost 600 participants across India throughout 2018 and has ambitious plans to continue this training throughout 2019, with more than 200 already trained by the end of June. The training, designed to support the operators using Terex equipment and educate them on safe and correct practices of machine operation, is delivered by qualified and knowledgeable training team members from Terex India. Participants left satisfied with the quality and content of the training and expressed their appreciation for being equipped with the correct knowledge, skills, methods and best practices in the industry.
Shekhar concludes, “The combination of a skilled, geographically diverse customer and product support team, a cutting-edge aftermarket facility, and continued roll out of our well-received operator training will support our efforts in providing first-rate product experience and support to our customers, and will support our ongoing growth and development as we seek to build on the momentum of increased demand for our products across India and beyond.”
