At IMME, TKIL showcased its latest innovations with a strong focus on sustainability and emerging mining trends. The company is committed to improving operational efficiency and advancing eco-friendly practices in India’s evolving mining sector.
How long have you been participating in the IMME event?
This is our third participation in IMME, and the experience has been extremely positive. We are confident that this year’s event will once again bring significant business success.
What emerging trends in mining machinery and technology do you see shaping the industry?
The mining and construction equipment sector is undergoing a paradigm shift, driven by various green initiatives and a growing emphasis on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) compliance. Sustainability has become a key focal point, and it is encouraging to see IMME and other industry events addressing this issue. Adopting sustainable practices is no longer optional—it is a necessity for the future. As such, sustainability and eco-friendly initiatives will continue to play an increasingly important role in both the mining and construction sectors in the years to come.
How is the event fostering networking and partnerships within the industry?
It is inspiring to see the growing number of participants at IMME each year, with more international firms, agencies, and stakeholders joining the event. This year, I noticed a significant increase in participation, which bodes well for the overall equipment sector. I am confident this trend will continue, contributing to a promising outlook for India’s mining and construction industries.
Can you tell us about the products you have showcased at IMME?
TKIL (formerly known as thyssenkrupp Industries India Pvt. Ltd.) manufactures large-scale mining equipment. At IMME, we have showcased a variety of our products, including wagon tipplers, bucket wheel excavators, and stacker reclaimers, as well as our aggregate crushing and screening solutions—such as jaw crushers, cone crushers, and mobile crushing plants. Additionally, we are exploring new technologies and forging collaborations to bring innovative products to the Indian market.
What contributions is TKIL making toward green mining practices?
Sustainability is at the core of our operations, as we focus on leveraging new technologies to promote environmentally responsible practices in the mining sector, which has traditionally been seen as environmentally challenging. Despite these concerns, mining remains a vital industry for economic growth. Over the years, mining processes have evolved significantly, with older methods being updated to minimise environmental impact and maximise societal benefits.
How do you envision the future of mining in India, and what role will TKIL play in shaping that future?
The future of mining in India looks very promising, especially in light of the national infrastructure pipeline, which exceeds USD 9 trillion. Numerous large-scale infrastructure projects are underway, and with a stable government in place, we anticipate the mining sector—covering coal, iron ore, aggregates, and other commodities—to grow at a rate of 8 to 10 percent annually. This optimistic outlook is supported by a steady upward trend over the past decade. TKIL is leading the way by providing new mobile and hybrid solutions that enhance energy efficiency and operational effectiveness for our customers. We are also developing AI and IoT-enabled devices for predictive and preventive maintenance. With a focus on in-house technological innovations, product development, and strategic collaborations with global companies, we are confident that TKIL is well-positioned to outpace industry growth and contribute to the ongoing expansion of India’s mining sector.
Could you elaborate further on the hybrid products you mentioned?
Hybrid crushing and screening equipment can be powered by electricity, diesel, or a combination of both, offering operators the flexibility to choose the most cost-effective power source based on their specific needs and location. Additionally, modular solutions with a plug-and-play design are gaining momentum in the industry, further contributing to operational efficiency and sustainability.
