SILRES BS concrete SILRES BS concrete is one of the most durable, stable building materials. However, moisture is always a culprit in damage to concrete. When water freezes and thaws, the damage can be extensive. Water also acts as an undesirable transport medium for aggressive substances, such as the chloride ions present in road salt. Furthermore, it serves as a medium in which reactions can take place. SILRES BS prevents water from being absorbed in the first place.
VINNAPAS dispersible powders and dispersionsFor concrete renovation, mortars modified with VINNAPAS dispersible powders and dispersions offer crucial benefits. They improve adhesion to installed concrete and steel, increase deformability and flexural strength, lower the elastic modulus and improve process ability and wetting properties. VINNAPAS dispersible powders ensure good processing, prevent the thin layers from drying too quickly, and raise the level of impermeability to CO2 and to pollutants such as road salt. They also improve the freeze and thaw resistance.
Sealing slurriesPolymer-modified mineral sealing slurries based on VINNAPAS are typically used to seal bathrooms and toilets. All it takes to effectively protect floors and walls from moisture is a layer of 2-3 millimetres. The seal continues to protect even when fine cracks appear in the masonry due to settling or shrinkage. Unlike traditional sealing methods, polymer-modified mineral sealing slurries don’t seal up the masonry, so water vapour can diffuse back and forth. Furthermore, application areas include water-bearing pipes and sewers, basement walls and foundations, balconies, flat roofs and garage roofs, bathrooms and toilets, swimming pools, multifunctional rooftops, e.g. rooftop terraces and parking decks, and underground parking lots.
ETONIS polymer modifiersPolymer modifiers of the ETONIS brand improve the properties of both fresh and hardened concrete and open up new cost-cutting potential. They optimise shotcrete adhesion and cohesion so that the concrete exhibits less rebound and offers excellent adhesion, even on critical substrates. What’s more, the concrete will exhibit an impressive blend of good compaction and processing properties, higher compressive strength (even with water seepage) and improved CO2 resistance. The polymer modifiers are available in liquid and powder form, and are suitable for wet and dry spraying.
New launchWacker will launch the new ETONIS 260 which makes drainage concrete for road surfacing durable yet water permeable. The new polymer modifier optimises the properties of both fresh and hardened concrete. Fresh concrete is easier to process and compact, and thanks to an increase in viscosity, less prone to run through during concrete compaction. Additionally, the new polymer improves the non-sag properties and extends the fresh concrete’s processing window. In hardened concrete, ETONIS 260 significantly increases the flexural and tensile strength of the concrete surfacing and augments its resistance to frost and road salts. This results in far fewer cracks forming in the concrete, which makes the surface more hard-wearing and durable. The concrete’s adhesive properties also improve, so that it bonds firmly and reliably to the lower surfacing layer. Furthermore, the polymer-modified drainage concrete—which was developed together with HeidelbergCement AG—absorbs sound and prevents noise pollution.
