Chief Minister of Assam Sarabananda Sonowal today opened ConMac 2017 – the construction and mining equipment mega event for the North East region of India.
The 3-day exhibition features over 125 companies from construction equipment sector and expected to witness more than 6,000 business visitors.
This exhibition is spread over 200,000 sq ft display area with major companies like JCB, Larsen & Toubro -Komatsu, Tata Hitachi, TIPL (CAT), Mahindra & Mahindra, SANY, Schwing Stetter, BKT, Kobelco, MRF, BEML, SREI, KYB Conmat, HPCL, Sandvik, Ajax Fiori, Action Construction Equipment, and Wirtgen are showcasing their wide range of machinery, equipment and other solutions/services.
Organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the event is scheduled to be held between 2nd and 4th March at Maniram Dewan Trade Center, Guwahati. Parimal Suklabaidya, Assam’s Minister of PWD (Roads and Buildings, NH) was the guest of honour for the inaugural event.
Conmac is designed as a showcase or knowledge platform for Army, Border Roads Organisation, Assam Rifles, government bodies like (PWDs and civil engineering, private contractors, builders, road and infrastructure developers, smart city, urban planning etc. to witness the latest technologies, equipment and machineries display which will enable accelerated infrastructure development needs of the region.
On 3rd March, there will be a conference on “Infrastructure Development in the North East Region – Focus on Roads & Highways” organised by CII alongwith ICEMA (Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association). The conference would mainly focus on development of roads and highways in this region, technology on the latest equipment for accelerating infrastructure development in North East Region. Participation of state governments, special finance pavilion by leading financial institutions, live demonstration etc.
The Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers` Association (ICEMA) is the “Sector Partner” of the event and it is also supported by Builders Association of India (BAI). According to the organisers, the first edition of ConMac witnessed 109 exhibitors with 150,000 sq ft of exhibition display area with 3,243 business visitors.
