Blue Energy Motors, a trailblaser in the realm of green truck manufacturing, commemorates the International Day of Clean Energy on January 26, synchronising with India’s Republic Day, by spotlighting a momentous achievement.

The company proudly announces that its fleet of trucks has effectively averted over 2500 tonnes of CO2 emissions since its inception. This translates to an approximate 30 percent reduction in emissions from the atmosphere, marking a tangible and commendable contribution toward fostering a cleaner environment, curbing carbon footprints, and nurturing a sustainable future.

In the Indian context, the logistics sector stands as the third-largest contributor to CO2 emissions, holding a substantial 14 percent share. Within this sector, heavy trucking alone is responsible for a staggering 45 percent of the total CO2 emissions. In response to this critical challenge, the adoption of zero-emission trucks, whether powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas) or batteries, carries the potential to slash between 2.8-3.8 gigatons of CO2 emissions from the present to 2050. Aligned with this vision, Blue Energy Motors’ steadfast commitment to decarbonisation has left an indelible mark, equivalent to the positive environmental impact of CO2 absorption by 100,000 trees in a single year.

Commenting on this development, Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors says, “Surpassing 2500 tons of CO2 emission reduction by our LNG truck fleet is a milestone that underscores our commitment to decarbonising the industry and contributing to India’s sustainability targets. This Republic Day, as we embrace the International Day of Clean Energy, our journey symbolises a green transition, marking a momentous step towards a cleaner, greener future for our nation and the planet. We take this as an opportunity to collectively work towards achieving the goal of sustainability for our environment. By leveraging alternate fuel technologies, we aim to set a transformative example for the industry by preventing emission of over 1mn tons of CO2 in next 5 years, extending our commitment beyond numbers to foster environmental responsibility. As we celebrate this milestone, let it be a call to action for stakeholders this Republic Day to unite in action for a better future.”

The statistics on emission reduction achieved by LNG trucks underscore their considerable environmental impact, boasting a noteworthy 30 percent decrease in CO2 emissions when compared to their diesel counterparts. Beyond this, these trucks actively contribute to a cleaner atmosphere by diminishing noise pollution by up to 30 percent, Carbon Monoxide by up to 70 percent, Sulphur Oxide by up to 100 percent, Nitrogen Oxide by up to 59 percent, and Particulate Matter by up to 98 percent. The ripple effect is palpable, with a single LNG truck covering an average distance of 80,000 km in a year significantly reducing emissions, showcasing the tangible benefits of embracing this green transportation solution.

The transition to green trucks emerges as a potent strategy to cut down CO2 emissions, mitigating the adverse impact of commercial vehicles on our environment. Even as we witness a commendable 33 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emission rates per unit increase of gross domestic product (GDP) in 2023, attributed to the use of renewable energy and reforestation over the past 14 years, the adoption of green trucking promises to further contribute to the reduction of emissions from the logistics and transportation industry. Blue Energy Motors, in its steadfast journey, stands as a beacon of sustainable practices in the transportation sector. These endeavors not only signify a new era of eco-conscious logistics but also affirm that green technology and commercial success can seamlessly coexist.
