New Exterior Wall Waterproofing Coating – Wallcoat
 
Insultec is a range of coating & membranes which by its application to the sun exposed surface of a building will re-radiate 95% Solar Infra red & 85% of Ultra red rays back to the atmosphere. It is the result of 35 years research by an Australian Insulation Technologist.
 
The formulation of INSULTEC is unique. It is a water based co-polymer compound containing inert pigment and special fillers. It is a single component coating with excellent adhesion, micro porous, impervious to salt spray & air born pollution, mould & fungus resistant. INSULTEC has been thoroughly tested and acclaimed by world authorities on heat transfer. 
 
INSULTEC stops the radiated heat to accumulate on the roof itself, as it re-radiates UV and IR rays, hence conduction and convection reduces unimaginably. As a result, it either eliminates the need for air conditioning altogether or greatly reduces the running cost. INSULTEC coating is 100% water proof also. In addition it is scrub resistant, elastic and washable. It has shown excellent resistance towards water vapour transmission, water absorption, carbon dioxide diffusion and chloride on ion penetration.  
 
It is seen that the average emmissivity of Insultec painted G.I. sheet is 0.89 which is much higher than unpainted G.I. sheet 0.11. The Absorptivity of painted surface is 0.24 so ration of emmissivity (0.89) to Absorptivity (0.24) is 3.7 while the same ratio for unpainted sheet is (0.11/0.74) = 0.15. “Hence Insultec is called as only Selective white membrane in the world” says Haridas Panicker, General manager, Chitra Insultec Pvt Ltd.
 
The temperature of Insultec painted surface is significantly lower than of unpainted surface. Clearly, heat gain would be much less in Insultec coated surface. It can be concluded that Insultec can provide a significant benefit in reducing heat gain and would find application for reducing temperature inside room in summer. Insultec coating is approved in Indian Railways, NTPC, IOC, GAIL, Indian Air force and many other Govt. organizations.
 
Chitra Insutlec has recently launched a new exterior wall waterproofing coating “WALLCOAT” with 5 years warrantee. It has excellent protection against chloride, sulphate and water vapour penetration from atmosphere. The coating reflects solar heat also. Its elongation and flexible property makes the surface waterproof and uniform. It can be applied very effectively where cracks have already developed. Its smooth film and anti fungus additives stop growth of algae and fungus on the coated surface for a longer period.
