The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has allocated ₹6,728.33 crore for the construction of eight segments, totaling 305.50 km along NH-913 in Arunachal Pradesh.

These frontier highway sections will establish vital road infrastructure connecting significant river basins, facilitating the development of numerous hydropower projects in the state.

Additionally, the construction is expected to mitigate migration, encouraging settlement in Arunachal Pradesh’s border regions. Nitin Gadkari, the Road Transport and Highway Minister, emphasised that the initiative aims to bolster connectivity to border areas and drive socio-economic advancement.

He highlighted that the greenfield road will link sparsely populated Upper Arunachal regions, anticipating increased traffic with the unlocking of tourism potential in the future.
