K obelco Construction Equipment India Pvt Limited (KCEI), a subsidiary of Kobelco Construction Machinery (KCM), Japan, was established in the year 2007 in India. The company is fully equipped to meet customer expectations in terms of service and parts, through an efficient logistics system, covering over 100 outlets in India and Nepal.

KCEI aims to continuously pursue high levels of customer satisfaction and has always been supportive in addressing customer concerns. The response has been tremendous and is reflected in the high percentage of repeat buyers.

New launch
According to Santosh Kr. Jaruhar, Advisor – Support Services, Kobelco Construction Equipment (India) Pvt Ltd, “EXCON 2017 has come at a very opportune time both for the industry and for Kobelco. The construction equipment industry is already on a growth path and the temporary setback due to higher rate of GST having being set right, will once again move in the positive direction.”

Kobelco, having completed its 10th year in India, is introducing the latest generation 10 series of excavators. In April this year, the 22-tonne variant was launched. Now the 38-tonne mining excavator SK380XDLC is being released in the Indian market. This will raise the bar for all the others in this segment, claims Jaruhar.

He adds, “We are also introducing a long reach attachment suitable for the 22-tonne SK220XDLC which is targeted at some niche applications.”

Improving the reliability and productivity
The new Gen’10 excavators come with multiple value additions for the user, thereby further improving the overall productivity and reliability making them the best in terms of ROI. Fuel efficiency has been taken to the next level and several features have been added to improve the machine output. This includes special focus on the operator comfort and efficiency with less fatigue.

Target markets
The Kobelco 38-tonne excavator is a preferred choice in most mining and quarrying applications like granite and marble mining, asserts Jaruhar. With the new improvements, its market share is expected to improve further. In Jaruhar’s opinion, it is a really tough machine which beats others in productivity by a long margin. With the launch of this new 38-tonne excavator, Kobelco wishes to consolidate its leadership position in the segment.

Future roadmap
As part of Kobelco’s global strategy, the crane business is being merged with the construction equipment organisation. This has now been implemented in India and Kobelco Cranes India Pvt Ltd has now been merged into Kobelco Construction Equipment India Pvt Ltd. This will bring in considerable synergy and consolidation with future growth prospects, opines Jaruhar.
