From mixing and batching to automatic cubing and splitting, Columbia strengthens a complete line of equipment to outfit entire concrete products plant, says Ramesh Babbar, President & Director, Columbia Machine Engineering (I) Pvt Ltd. The company has made a number of design changes on its flagship product SPM20, in addition to launching fully automatic Concrete Block Machine SPM30 last year.

What are your offerings at the Concrete Show 2019?
Concrete Show attracts many potential buyers and decisions makers from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh. Our aim is to meet all those prospects who are keen to enter the business and brief them about our latest offerings to meet their requirements and provide complete solutions. Our newly-designed and manufactured Planetary Mixer is a new equipment to our range and is exclusively Made in India from our group company Techmatik of Poland. Apart from this, our flagship model SPM20, SPM26 and SPM30 with big board machine from Techmatik.

How are your products making construction better?
Columbia Machine is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of concrete products equipment, serving customers in over 100 countries. From mixing and batching to automatic cubing and splitting, Columbia builds a complete line of equipment to outfit entire concrete products plant. The model SPM20 which is for Indian market, can be used to produce a wide range of high-quality concrete products such as hollow blocks, paver blocks, retaining wall blocks, flyash bricks and kerbstones. All these features have provided substantial profits and quick payback on investment to over 250 users in India alone. We have made several design changes on our flagship product SPM20 and launched new and fully automatic Concrete Block Machine SPM30 last year. The model SPM30 machine is provided with a unique Rack Loader/Unloader model UL30 Made in India with technology from Columbia Machine, USA. UL 30 provides completely automatic loading and unloading the production pallets in to the Racks. Further, cured products are automatically cubed on wooden pallets using the Plate Style Cuber PSC 200 again Made in India with technology provided by Columbia Machine USA. This increased pallet and product handing efficiency and improves productivity as well as reduces product handling damages drastically.

Please discuss your plans for financial year 2019-20.
This year, we are looking forward to developing unexplored markets like Indore, Aurangabad, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Meerut and other places in India. Other than that, we have expansion plans for other Asian and African countries too. We have presence in Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Nigeria.
