AAC’s Asia operations
AAC’s mining operations are located in Africa, Asia and South America. In Asia, AAC was founded in 2003 and its Asia operation was started in 2011 with the setting up of its registered office in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Since 2011, the company’s operations in India have been at Hindustan Zinc Ltd (Rampura Agucha Underground or RAUG mine in Bhilwara district), where we have moved the mine from development to production, within this process a variety of ground stabilisation methods have been introduced and trialled successfully.

RAUG is recognised as world-class in its underground operations, being the most advanced mechanised operation at present in India. This mine is located 200 kms south of Jaipur in Rajasthan and the mineral been mined is high grade zinc and lead. AAC is engaged in both rapid mine development by 1.2 km and production over 1,30,000 tonnes of ore every month with a workforce of about 500.

AAC at RAUG has utilised experience from its multinational workforce to assess and overcome many issues that have arisen during underground operations, working within a very complex ore body and challenging ground conditions.
