Jayesh Vadukiya, Managing Director, New Age Construction Equipment Engineering Company
New Age has become an established player in the field of customised suspended platforms. What are its key advantages?
High rise building is the new trend in India. Also, every building is different in design. So, to get access in structures either for construction or for maintenance, there comes the requirement of customised Rope Suspended Platforms (RSP). The requirements differ case to case, building to building and customer to customer.
The custom shape suspended platform is a of non-standard suspended platform with special specifications and it is tailored to meet the requirements on the construction of irregular buildings. The custom shape suspended platform features light weight, high utility, high security, and reasonable price. Its main part can be freely moved and restructured, making it convenient and efficient to complete the construction and maintenance work of irregular buildings.
What are the biggest advantages of your RSPs?
Our biggest benefit is that we go to the customer site, understand the customer’s requirements and then design the machines. Our L-type (90-feet), C-shape, Curve-shape, W-shape, square-shape, round-shape, multiple front extension platforms, front extension (fixed or folding) and multiple modifications in suspension mechanism, parapet clamping and wall brackets are the trendsetters in construction segment.
Of late, we have designed a round-shaped gondola for chimney internal works. This machine is of 6.8-metre radius, galvanised, with 3-tonne loading capacity and 300-metre working height. There is an arrangement in centre to cross a man material lift inside the platform. This is a very unique product and innovation for chimney project. If we compare the cost of this product even with Chinese one, it is much more cost-effective.
Also, our customised suspended platforms used in Grand Central Project at Seawoods, Navi Mumbai gave us good result. Some of our clients include reputed builders like Lodha, Kalpataru and Omkar.
What is your position in this market?
We are clearly the market leader in the Indian RSP market with around 60 per cent share.

We have launched Mini Lift at Excon and get tremendous response from visitors. Mini lift is generally used for lifting sand, bricks, concrete, cement, tiles, steel rods, marble and other building materials in high-rise buildings, open pit mining, building foundations, dams and bridges construction.
It can be operated without any foundations and can rotate at 360-degree to its rotational axis. Right now, as per customers’ requirements we have manufactured two types of models in 300-kg and 500-kg carrying capacity.
Are you finding any difficulty in terms of sourcing the raw materials?
Our company is based in Rajkot which is flourished with small scale industries. So, we have easy access to all the required raw materials and spare parts.
