They recently displayed our latest range of construction equipment developed in our Hyderabad plant at Bauma CONEXPO India 2023. During BC India 2023, the sand washing machine was the centre of attention. The company plan to sell these machines at a moderate cost to small construction and mining companies that could not afford to purchase sand-washing equipment due to the high ownership costs.

What strategies do you follow to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality in your range of construction equipment?

We could offer a low price because we used low-cost steel structures rather than mechanised systems. We’ve also reduced the steel thickness in these machines to make them more affordable for contractors. These machines also help us meet our emission targets. This is the first time in the sand washing industry that the process is environmentally friendly. VSI will target small-time contractors with this equipment. In addition, we intend to introduce filter press machines by 2024. It’s a combination of all sand-washing equipment requirements.

We also supply polyurethane spare parts for sand-washing units, crushers, steel plants, and mining equipment. We have two manufacturing plants, one in Hyderabad and one in Bhubaneshwar. The products these units develop and manufacture are used in domestic and export markets.

How do you look at the R&D and training followed at your facility to enhance production efficiency and capabilities?

Our R&D team is involved in rigorous training activities with our technical and marketing teams to make them more accessible to our customers. By going to market, they are also adding innovative ways to explain the key characteristics of our equipment and their operations to our customers. What is the demand for sand washing equipment in infrastructure projects?

Separating sand from the river bed reduces the ability of the water to retain itself. As a result, the government is interested in M-Sand. The government is gradually prohibiting the removal of riverbed sand as the retainability at ground level decreases. As a result, we anticipate that sand-washing equipment will gain popularity in the coming years.

Given the government’s policies, demand for sand-washing equipment is expected to skyrocket over the next five years. According to market research, we currently hold only 2-3 percent of the market. Even other companies’ market shares are less than 10 percent if you look closely. Therefore, the market for such equipment is expected to grow further in the coming years.

Can you please talk about your manufacturing capacities? We produce both machines and spare parts. We have 25 machines in each category each year. We plan to increase the number of units in the future, but for now, we are only producing 25 pieces per year. We are primarily concerned with custom requirements and machine quality. We are gradually transforming ourselves to meet the changing and advancing industry expectations per geography.
