Tijaria is a revolutionary HDPE pressure pipe with built-in detectability feature designed to provide precise location of underground PE piping systems for water distribution. Tijaria carries a co-extruded HDPE encased copper wire along its entire length, which acts as a corrosion proof conductor. Tijaria provides complete detectability in use with multiple frequency locators.
The copper wire of the pipes at some accessible point like a manhole is physically connected to a transmitter that induces a select frequency signal in it. Detector attuned at the same frequency then gives the precise, inch by inch underground location of the pipe. Tijaria saves both time and labour during repair/maintenance and upgrade work and also prevents damage to other utilities.

DetectabilityHDPE pipes will be detectable when buried underground by providing a copper wire, co-extruded or firmly secured by self-adhesive tapes along the entire length of pipe, duly ISI marked or any other equivalent method enabling measurement/detectability from the top of ground.
Copper wire will have PE (polyethylene) insulation, if laid separately and secured by self adhesive tape on the pipe. The insulation will be free from voids and strong enough to withstand mechanical and thermal stress of underground buried conditions. The thickness of the PE insulation wouldn’t less than 1.25 mm or more, if specified in the relevant BIS.
Tijaria detebtable polyethylene pipesOne of the vexing problems being faced by utilities worldwide with installation of underground polyethylene piping networks is “Traceability”.
Tijaria offers the fully detectable polyethylene pipe which provides inch-by-inch traceability of the underground piping networks. It also offers dept measurement and GPS co-ordinates features. Tijaria pipe carries a coextruded highly conductive copper wire, encased in HDPE web along the entire length, which is used to carry a signal from a transmitter that can be easily received by hand-held locator.
ColourThe colour of the pipe would be black.
Raw materialsThe materials used for the manufacturer of pipes will not constitute toxicity hazard, support microbial growth, give rise to unpleasant taste or odour, cloudiness or discoloration of water. Raw materials used to manufacture the HDPE pipes shall be 100 per cent virgin (PE 100/ PE 80 / PE 63), compounded or Natural black PE resin.
Reworked materialsNo addition of reworked/recycled material is permissible and use only 100 per cent virgin resin compound.
Workmanship/appearancePipes shall be free from all defect including indentations, delaminating, bubbles, pinholes, cracks, pits, blisters, foreign inclusions that due to their nature degree or extent detrimentally affect the strength and serviceability of the pipe.
The pipe will be as uniform as commercially practicable in colour opacity, density and other physical properties as per relevant IS norms or equivalent international norms. The inside surface of each pipe will be free of scouring, cavities, bulges, dents, ridges and other defects that result in a variation of inside diameter from that obtained on adjacent unaffected portions of the surface. The pipe ends will be cut clearly and square to the axis of the pipe. IS:4984/1995 will be followed for visual appearance.
