How different are your access equipment from the others available in the market? Why a buyer should buy your equipment?

India is a very demanding market and whenever we analyse this market the first thing that comes in to our mind is the price consciousness. Secondly, there are not many manufacturers in India for products like self-propelled special purpose and standard scissor lifting platforms, aerial work platforms, aluminium masts, and truck mounted as well as self-propelled boom lifts. Until now, most of these products are being imported from Europe, US and China.

We are here for the past 35 years and we know the market, how it responses to the products.We understand the Indian customers and the way they use these products. They expect certain amount of ruggedness whereas the products imported from Europe and China are mostly optimised with high percentage of Electronic Controls. There are certain criteria for operating machines and most of the operators in India fail to observe those criteria which result in high frequency of failure and subsequent demand for replacement of spares and parts. Here again the cost is highly prohibitive. So, we understood that the market demands are frequent here and at the same time the expectation in the market is to bring down the price level where people can afford it. That’s why the products we manufacture in India are robust in design and look more rugged. Also, 90 per cent of the components are indigenised so it is easy to replace at a short notice at an affordable price. This allows us to create a niche market with high reliability factor.

Do you manufacture your entire range of products here in India?

Our focus is to manufacture complete range of material handling equipment and we are also OEM suppliers for Hydraulic Bottle Jacks to Ashok Leyland and VE Commercial Vehicles. We also have 5-year-contract with Hindustan Aeronautical Ltd (HAL) for helicopter ground handling and ground support equipment. We have also developed Jacks for LCA project and Sukhoi in Nashik. We are putting lot of work towards development and manufacturing of these products in our two manufacturing units located at Ambattur and Sriperumbudur near Chennai.

Did you launch any new product at EXCON 2017?

In partnership with Italian truck mounted Aerial Access Platform manufacturer Isoli, we have introduced superstructures onto locally built truck chassis to use it as aerial access platform where we make the sub chassis body, the out riggers and the hydraulics. We are in an advanced stage of discussion for manufacturing the entire equipment in India.

What are the criteria in selecting trucks for this purpose?

It’s purely equipment based because every access equipment required specific wheelbase. So, we advise customers by recommending most suitable chassis for a particular wheelbase.

What are the potential application areas?

These products can be used across all infrastructural related areas such as warehousing, construction, electrical power generation, streetlight maintenances and facade cleaning. Most of the equipment rental companies buy these machines for use in various application areas including airports, seaports and railways.
