PEB set to revolutionise construction industry
Sharing his projections about how this year will turn out to be for the PEB industry, Gupta said, “The PEB industry specifically is doing good and has a huge potential as the government is focusing on heavy infrastructure projects and PEB will play a major role in fast execution of these projects.”

He further adds, “Over the last 14-15 years, the industry has grown at an average of 15-20 per cent per annum. The industry growth has fluctuated many times due to economic slowdown and may be affected slightly due to demonetisation impact. However, in the case of real estate and other infrastructure projects, the execution is on stand due to uneven cash flows and this sector will be strained unless proper clarity on laws can be defined.”

According to Gupta, the usage of steel and PEB is growing rapidly and is set to bring a revolution in the Indian construction industry.

Industry will make a comeback
Sharing his projections for the business, Gupta says, “The year 2017 will be very important and crucial for the company as we are looking forward to achieve new milestones by completing some of our major projects and also planning to explore new segments which will lay a strong foundation for future growth of the company.”

Gupta feels that the changing economic conditions and various new initiatives undertaken by the government , especially ‘Make in India’ and the development of smart cities, will play a major role as they will give various opportunities and create huge demand of PEB in coming years.

“Though we need to look out on our expected business projections of year 2017 as major sector has been hit by demonetisation which will impact our future business as well, but still company is expecting some major orders from government and corporate sectors and also looking forward to commence our second PEB plant by end of year 2017 to cater the East, West and South market,” says Gupta.

Active participation in developing India
Sharing the strategies that will be used by Richa Industries to achieve the set targets, Gupta said, “We are looking forward for active participation in developing Smart Cities and more focus on Infrastructure projects. Our new plant in central India will help us cater pan India and also the overseas market.”

He further adds, “We work as a trend-setter and for us every assignment is an opportunity to demonstrate out-of-the-box creativity and set unique edge.”

Advantages and disadvantages of PEB in building construction?
Sharing the advantages offered by PEB in the construction segment, Gupta says, “PEB offers immense benefits over conventional methods in terms of speed, quality and cost. Steel is recyclable and is considered as a green building material. It has high strength and reduces overall consumption of material.”

Throwing further light on the advantages, Gupta adds, “Pre Engineered Buildings are completely manufactured in factory in a controlled environment hence the quality control is much better. Steel with its high strength in tension and compression offers lot of choices to architects. Modifications in steel building are much easier than RCC building. Structural strength of a steel beam can be easily enhanced by welding extra plate or additional member. Use of advanced software in manufacturing PEBs help to customise products according to the requirements and reduce wastage of raw materials and natural resources.”

However, PEB has some disadvantages too. Explaining the disadvantages, Gupta says, “Pre Engineered Building has major advantages over RCC buildings but if we talk about Fire rating, Bare steel building does not offer a good fire rating unless measures are taken to improve the same if compare with RCC. However there are number of ways to improve fire rating in a steel buildings.”
