A testament to the products performance is that when a renowned PSU in power generating sector faced a problem related to the delamination of their water proofing membrane in the TG building because of constant vibration forces, CICO Technologies, after critical and thorough analysis came out with an innovative solution and suggested CICO CORCHEM 206 I as a repair coating. CORCHEM 206 I is modified polyurethane based liquid applied membrane system consisting of high solids percentage which makes it acceptable to the customers. “CORCHEM 206 I have very good bonding properties with concrete, steel and other construction materials that are widely used today and this has made the product widely accepted and trusted in the industry,” says Sukanta Mallik, Asst. Vice President – Business Development, CICO Technologies Ltd.

Tremendous bonding properties
For any waterproofing coating to be able to perform under stressful conditions, good bond strength with the substrate is very necessary. Owing to its composition, the product has tremendous bonding properties with concrete substrates which make it a favourable choice for waterproofing. Further, being a high solid content membrane, the Dry Film Thickness (DFT) and the Wet Film Thickness (WFT) after application are almost the same. Being modified polyurethane it has got an elongation of more than 400 per cent and can have crack bridging capabilities up to 3 to 5 mm. As it is UV resistant, and moisture cured, the chances of occurrence of application errors are next to negligible, which in turn affects the rate of execution of work on site and saves time as well as money.

Popular in waterproofing industry
Despite constant changes in modern waterproofing techniques, CORCHEM 206 I, because of its versatility, is being constantly used. Sukanta explains, “The material, at present has become very much popular in waterproofing industries and is being used in all kinds of roof waterproofing, podium, terrace garden, swimming pool. It can also be used as a barrier coating to internal or external parts of structures where protection is required from adverse climatic condition such as fungal growth, chloride attacks or high moisture content.” Other application areas include general concrete structures, brick masonry, galvanised iron surfaces etc.

CICO Technologies have about 300 distributors and more than 3500 outlets all over the country where the material is available.
