In an interview with B2B Purchase, Kranthi Kumar Ravuri from Vibrant Construction Equipment discusses the benefits of on-site SCADA-enabled modern concrete batching plants.

Can you describe the features and capabilities of your concrete batching plant?
The designing of the batching plant has been done after carefully studying the design of competitor models. Based on this, we have manufactured the plant by trying to eliminate any flaws and made our plant user-friendly, with low installation cost and high productivity.

How do you ensure consistent quality in the final delivery?
At Vibrant when it comes to quality we give at most importance to that process we buy all the raw materials and bought out items from reputed brands only. At fabrication, assembly, erection and commissioning level we have quality check points and we will strictly follow the same. However quality is a continuous process we always try to implement new technics and materials to improve the quality standards of our products.

How does your batching plant comply with environmental regulations and minimise its impact on the environment?
Today’s major concern is complying with environmental regulations, so we take care of this at the design stages. Our batching plants generate very low noise during production, thus reducing sound pollution. Our dust system in the plant has been designed to control the dust released into the atmosphere. However, despite all these control systems, a certain amount of dust is generated. This is a continuous improvement process. We are continuously working on reducing pollution.

What is the production capacity of your batching plant?
We have various batching plant capacities ranging from 20 cum/ hr to 120 cum/hr output plants. As already mentioned, the plant is controlled by a SCADA system through which we will preprogram the required concrete recipe, and this software will handle the required type of concrete as required by the customer.

Can you walk me through setting up and operating your concrete batching plant?
Modern batching plants are now equipped with SCADA software, which has made their operation much simpler and user-friendly. Additionally, these plants require minimal civil work on-site, as they are installed on a PCC provided by the customer based on the supplier’s drawings. After the civil work is completed, the plant is sent to the site along with an erection team to assemble it. The handling machinery is provided by the customer, and the engineer positions the plant as necessary. Once all the wiring and connections are completed, the plant is connected to the main control panel and tested with no load. It is then calibrated to its capacity and undergoes a load trial to stabilise it. Finally, the customer team is trained for two weeks by a service engineer until they are comfortable with the machine. Despite these improvements, operators may still encounter challenges and require a thorough understanding of the plant’s operation, software, and electrical troubleshooting areas. Operators must be well-trained and educated to ensure efficient operation of the plant.

How do you ensure the safety of workers around the batching plant during operation and maintenance activities?
As an OEM, we provide safety protocols for customers at the site, including wearing helmets and safety shoes to prevent physical injuries. During maintenance, we advise the client to switch off all moving parts. Periodically, the client must request a breakdown call for our service team to perform health checks on the plant.
