BCD is one of the major manufacturers and suppliers of pure Carbon Dioxide gas widely used as shielding gas for MIG welding in the automobile industry. Shielding gases are necessary for gas metal arc welding to protect the welding area from atmospheric gases such as moisture, nitrogen and oxygen, which can cause fusion defects, porosity, and weld metal embrittlement if they come in contact with the electrode, the arc, or the welding metal.
 
We manufacture and deliver carbon dioxide of high purity; purity that is consistent. BCD is the most prefered, profolic source of carbon dioxide for its ultra low content of impurities that harm welding bead finish.
 
Our carbon dioxide gas with such high purity really helps gain real spray metal transfer mode instead of globular metal transfer mode as commonly seen in MIG welding with less pure carbon dioxide. Consitency in purity reduces weld defects, welder fatigue & improves productivity, as welder doesn’t have to adjust with inconsistent gas purity that affects welding.
 
The illustration below provides a look at a typical MIG welding process showing an arc that is formed between the wire electrode and the work piece. During the MIG welding process, the electrode melts within the arc and becomes deposited as filler material. The shielding gas that is used prevents atmospheric contamination from and protects the weld during solidification. The shielding gas, forms the arc plasma, stabilizes the arc on the metal being welded, shields the arc and molten weld pool, and allows smooth transfer of metal from the weld wire to the molten weld pool.
